OHAUS SmartLink ™

OHAUS Guardian 7000 Hotplate Stirrers are designed with outstanding safety features and superior heating and mixing performance. Only the Guardian 7000 Hotplate Stirrers offer SmartLinkTM which provides long-range user detection for improving safety when using the heating function to protect your lab. When enabled by the user, the patented SmartLink technology will automatically shut off the heater if no one is detected after a user set "time out" period has passed.
How does this work?
- SmartLinkTM is an optional safety feature designed to automatically turn the Guardian 7000 heater off if the user travels out of range of the unit for a user selected time limit
- The SmartLinkTM feature requires the use of the Ohaus Wireless Dongle and the use of a smartphone with this Ohaus App.
- Insert the Wireless Dongle into the USB port of the Guardian 7000 Hotplate Stirrer and use the Menu to start broadcasting the Bluetooth signal from the unit and set the time out period
- The user establishes a connection between the unit and their smartphone via the App
- The Bluetooth icon will be illuminated on the Guardian 7000 units display.
NOTE: When the SmartLinkTM Feature is enabled, the heater cannot turn on without Bluetooth connectivity - User starts the Guardian 7000 heating function and the smartphone can be within approximately 50 meters (depending on structure of the lab/building) of the unit to maintain connectivity
- If the unit loses the Bluetooth connection with the paired smartphone the unit will beep, the icon will blink on the display and the unit will enter the time out period
- If the Bluetooth connection is not reestablished with the smartphone during the time out period the heater will shut off. The Bluetooth icon will continue to blink on the display to alert the user why the heating function shut off. The unit will continue to stir
- Connect up to 10 Guardian 7000 Hotplate Stirrers to one smart phone.
